Tips: Keep your batteries fully charged for performance and power. Batteries usually take around 8 hours to fully charge, new batteries may take up to 10 hours. Fully charged batteries can hold a charge for several hours with a potential range of approximately 10 to 20 miles depending on your model, weight of rider, terrain and type of batteries installed. Protect your batteries from extremes of heat and cold. Battery chargers are matched to the type and size of batteries so only use the charger that came with your battery for the safest and most efficient charging. Charge your battery nightly regardless of the amount of daily use. You can leave the battery connected. It will not overcharge if you are using the correct charger. If you use your mobility scooter daily, get in the habit of charging the batteries when you’ve finished for the day. Do not leave your battery charger plugged in to the outlet when the scooter is not in use. Never let the batteries be fully discharged or drained and if you are not planning on using your scooter for a few days, fully charge the batteries, then disconnect them from the scooter. Overcharging does not improve performance.
